My car is at 30611 miles and it's next due oil change will be 30698 but I am strapped for cash with the christmas season, can i wait unti 12-26, if all i do is drive 15 miles to work for two weeksHow many miles can a car go after the recommended mileage for oil?
as long as you haven't been abusing the car you can wait till thenHow many miles can a car go after the recommended mileage for oil?
Typically, the place where you got your oil changed will suggest 3,000 miles. But I was advised to go 4,000 miles until I get it changed, otherwise it is a waste of money. Some cars will have a light that will tell you when to get it changed. So when that comes on get it changed.
Today's oil is made to last longer then 3,000 miles. It's just a scam by dealers and quick oil lubes to get you in. Most oil's can last 5,000 miles as long as your not doing a ton of city driving or pulling a trailer or boat or in extreme cold or heat.
you shouldnt go over 3000 miles up to 5000 is ok and like 7 - 10 thousand miles over would be like really pushing it. It also depends on how old your car is. Being that you only have 30k on it i think you should be ok.
You can change oil anytime you want. They are only recommending it to change every 3 or 4 thousand miles. You can also open up the hood and look for the dip stick and see how dirty is your oil.
yes you can the recommend time is a suggestion not law you will be fine to go a couple even thousand over the oils today are better then they were when they suggested 3000 miles dint sweat it
I have gone 5K. Pull your dipstick and judge by how dirty the oil actually is.
