How difficult is it to convert your vehicle to run on vegetable oil?

Can you d-i-y a kit to your 4x4?How difficult is it to convert your vehicle to run on vegetable oil?
you can run straight clean veg oil in most diesels but if you are using USED veg oil you will have to strain(at least 5 micron filter) it good to remove most of the impurities but there is one problem clean new vegetable oil ($4.81) per gallon costs more than diesel fuel and you do NOT have to pay tax on alternative fuels in united states if you got your own or get it free from resturants and If you want to run dirty veg oil or biodiesel expect to change the filter a few times while it cleans the crud(from diesel) from the tank and fuel lines and clogs up the fuel filter edit: but you will have to pay tax on alternative fuel if you are producing it to sell itHow difficult is it to convert your vehicle to run on vegetable oil?
yes u can i've seen them on ebay it was about 拢300
Well first of all your engine has to be a diesel. From there i dont know what it costs, or how hard it is.
I do not know. vegetable oil is for cooking not for vehicles.
It costs about 5,000 (I think) and your car has to be diesel. It seemed fairly easy once you got the hang of converting used oil to the clean, processed oil your car uses. The trick is finding the used oil and the time.....

Have fun we really wanted to do this also but were unable to at the time.
You are living in a fantasy world, the engine in most cars/light trucks are designed to run on gasoline. It would take a near complete overhaul of the engine and exhaust system to do this, if this were possible at all.
It cannot be done unless you have a diesel engine. Then it is possible to get a kit. Not sure of exactly where, but I heard about it at Mother Earth News.
if U diesel, jus put it in

but if cops follow, they know bcoz it smell different

U can get reciepe from net for better stuff, home made diesel, still a bummer wen u caught
well if your vehicle doesn't have a diesel engine, then... it ain't gonna be easy dude.
Why vegetable oil? I'm inventing an engine that runs on human blood. It will be cheaper than vegetable oil and gasoline.
your car has to be desil, it would take a while i dont know if you could do it yourself.

the easier solution is to run it on biodeisil, this is made from plants and stuff.

i know this because ive just been revising it for my year 10 exams :)
vegetable oil? come on is **** really that bad
My Pajero runs on a 50/50 mix of veggie oil and diesel with no problems in fact it produces less carbon than a mini according to the last MOT. Check out www.pocuk.co.uk Technical loads of us use it the cost to convert to 100% veggie is about 拢500. Hope this helps you become green. And the good news for UK users is that from 1st July there is no duty due if you use under 2500 litres a year.
car or truck must be a diesel and it costs around 600 bucks here in florida, check in the back of popular science mags for someone that can put it in for you or send you the kit ive heard its not to hard to do
i run my Pajero on veg oil with 50% diesel

did not have to make any mods at all

i think a lot depends on the pump on the car

i use new vegetable oil thinned slightly with white spirit

you should pay the tax on this but of course it up to you if you take the risk

but you can apply to the office for the right form

email me if you need any more details
If it is diesel, I don't think it is difficult at all. Hillarious how the exhaust smells like a chip shop though! Customs and excise look out for this and come down hard on you because you are not paying tax though.
