I wanted to mix it all in the blender and put it into the cruet the night before. Also I have spring mix lettuce from earthbound farms organic i am serving it tomorrow the 30th the date says the 31st is this still good?If you have a slad dressing with vinegar honey lemon and olive oil can you make it the night before?
yeah just shake it before you put it onIf you have a slad dressing with vinegar honey lemon and olive oil can you make it the night before?
Yes and yes. Store the dressing in the refrig. It will be fine for several days and the greens should be good for another week as long as they didn't get wet at the store.
Yes u can keep it overnite but no longer dont make it and use it days later but over nite is fine...
yes you can mix it a day before to blend the honey with vinegar so that it does not separet yes it is good because it it a day before
Yes, make your dressing the night before. It will separate, but shake it up (get the lid on tight!) and it'll be fine.
Yes, the lettuce is still good. A few of the outermost leaves may be past their prime and can be discarded if you don't like the looks of them, but it should still be in good shape.
Happy salad!
Yes, it's still good, and as far as your dressing, if you want to leave it over night, put it in a small sandwich baggie for about 5 1/2 hours, then, pulse it again and serve.
You can make your dressing the night before, and it will be fine the next day. You might just have to shake the cruet to re-mix the ingredients before you put it on the salad. You can also experiment with adding some mustard to your dressing. It acts as an emulsifier so that when you shake all the ingredients up, they stay mixed. I like using Grey Pupon mustard in my dressings, but you have to experiment to see how much you need to keep the dressing emulsified without having an overpowering mustard taste.
As for your bag of salad, don't go by the date on the bag. Go by what you observe when you open the bag. If the greens are still fresh, then use them. If there is a foul smell, or the greens have turned black or slimy, then dump them. They are no longer good. Also, don't just go by what you see when you first open the bag. Put the greens in a bowl and check them thoroughly. It could look fine on top, but be rotting at the bottom.
